What does RSVP mean on an invitation?
RSVP comes from the French “Répondez s’il vous plaît”, which means “please reply”. On an invitation, it asks every guest to say whether they're coming. Today those replies can come in through a link you send by text or WhatsApp.

What RSVP means on an invitation
You'll see it on wedding invitations, birthday parties, baby showers and work events, with or without periods: RSVP or R.S.V.P.
It's meant for everyone, including guests who can't make it. Those answers are how the host settles the headcount for food, seating and favors.

Frequently asked questions
Is RSVP only for people who are coming?
No. Everyone should reply, including people who can't go. That's how the host knows the exact headcount.
What does “regrets only” mean?
It means you only need to reply if you're not coming. With an RSVP link, everyone answers in one tap, so the headcount is exact.
Is it rude not to RSVP?
It makes planning harder for the host. If you can't decide yet, reply “maybe” and let the host know once you're sure.
Do guests need to download anything?
No. They open the link on their phone, choose Going, Maybe or Can't go and say how many people they're bringing. It takes less than a minute.
Is it free?
Creating the list is free and guests never pay. The first replies are free; for unlimited replies you buy the Single Event Pass in the app: a one-time purchase on Google Play or the App Store that doesn't renew and lasts until 30 days after the event.
